Finding Luck In The Emirate

The present economic crisis leaves local individuals the dream of leaving their town and even the country to look for a greener pasture.  Even those with stable jobs, they are also thinking of changing their work and work abroad.

The tourism industry is one of the most stable businesses.  Production businesses suffer sudden drops, but the sector of travel and tourism remains positive with millions of arrivals every year.

The category always offers hotel vacancies in UAE.  Expats opting to remain and work in the emirate take jobs on hotels and restaurant as it promises a good starting point in establishing one’s career.

A friend of mine found her luck in hospitality jobs in Abu Dhabi.  She started as a receptionist in a low cost hotel. Before leaving the country, she searched for overseas hospitality recruitment online in applying for possible jobs abroad.It is her dedication and inspiration of improving her life she finds time in the evening to attend night classes for career advancement.  The owner of the hotel took notice of her quality and helped her in her daily expenditures.  When she arrived in the country, she resides in staff houses with other personnel working on the other branches of hotel.  After a few months, the owner promoted her as the day manager and let her have her own place in the hotel.  With less expense on hand, she started to save and create a plan for a hotel that can cater to the middle and higher end.

Perseverance pays

When she finished her degree at a local college, she presented her thesis to the owner of the hotel for a project proposal.  This opens the biggest opportunity of her life.  The then owner of the hotel she was working now becomes her business partner.  Mrs. X makes my friend an industrial partner while she finances the project.  They retained the original hotel concept and add amenities and improvement until they become the number one in the area. 

When asked what her secret of success, she always says that it’s her faith and dedication that guides her in making her dream come true.
